It has been a minute...

June 2021 was the craziest month for weddings I have had thus far, and I am here for it! It started off with Ryan Chabal and Grace King's amazing wedding in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the Veteran's Memorial Building. We started the day with taking pictures of the girls getting ready, hair was done by Warbasse at Refinery Salon & Co., located downtown Cedar Rapids, and make up was done by one of the bridesmaids herself, Maureen Nolan. While all of that was happening, I was getting pictures of the little details done of her absolutely stunning dress, from David's Bridal, and all the reception decor, all done by Hyvee. Grace, her mom, Tracy, and sister, Anna, put on her dress and then did a cute dress reveal for her bridesmaids before going up to see Ryan for their first look.

Once upstairs, Ryan was waiting for Grace to arrive, and he seemed nervous but excited. Once Grace came out of the elevator, I made her put her hand on his shoulder and wait until I took a few pictures, and boy did that kill them to wait!! The look and joy that Ryan and Grace showed for each other during their first look was wonderful for me to be a part of. One thing I like to do on someone's big day and step out and let the bride and groom just have a moment to themselves before their long and busy day!

Pictures were done at the Veteran's Memorial Building and around the area under a beautiful gazebo space. The bridal party had so much energy and Ryan and Grace had so much love and affection for each other, they made it so easy and fun for me!

The ceremony was held on the 3rd floor of the Veteran's Memorial Building, filled with windows and natural light. There was a string band who played during their ceremony and it was gorgeous! It was short and sweet, all the time we needed to see how much love these two shared for one another! We took big group family pictures after the ceremony before the reception in the same space as the ceremony, then the party began. Grace and Ryan had people very close to them give speeches, a wonderful dinner served by Hyvee, cake cutting and finally, the dancing.

I feel truly honored to have shot this wedding for these two amazing humans who truly loved and appreciated every single person who was a part of their day. Thank you again Grace and Ryan for allowing me to be a small part in your most wonderful day: 6/12/2021
